The Man God Uses

The Man God Uses

"Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those blog who love Him." James 1:12

I apologize for the lateness of Freedom Fighters this week. I am sending them from Children's Hospital in Boston and having problems getting connected each morning. Our granddaughter, Lindsay, is still hanging between death and life, and will be evaluated today to see if they can proceed with the Berlin Heart tomorrow. We would appreciate your prayers. You can visit her blog at www.americaskeswick.org. If you leave a comment, let the kids know you are a Freedom Fighter.

This past weekend was our Colony of Mercy Reunion. Hundreds of grads came back to share what God has been doing in their lives. Dr. Jamie Mitchell shared a series on trials and concluded his message with this powerful poem to illustrate James 1:12

When God wants to drill a man
And thrill a man
And skill a man,
When God wants to mold a man
To play the noblest part;
When He yearns with all HIS heart
To create so great and bold a man
That all the world shall be amazed,
Watch HIS methods, watch HIS ways!
How He ruthlessly perfects
Whom He royally elects!
How He hammers and hurts him,
And with mighty blows converts him
Into trial shapes of clay which
Only God understands;
While his tortured heart is crying
And he lifts beseeching hands!
How He bends but never breaks
When his good He undertakes;
How He uses whom He chooses
And with every purpose fuses him;
By every act induces him
To try His splendor out --
God knows what He's about! - Oswald Sawnders - Spiritual Leadership

That is a great illustration of James 1:12. Are you willing to persevere under trial today? You can't do it alone - but Christ can do it through you! - Bill Welte is President and CEO of America's KESWICK.

For a gift of any size, I'd love to send you Jamie's four-part message on trials. To order, reply to this email with you snail address.

Think about it: Hell works the hardest on God's saints. The most worthy souls will be tested with the most pressure and the highest heat, but heaven will not desert them. - William L. Watkinson
