Thank God for Hurricane Irene

THANK GOD FOR HURRICANE IRENE
MATTHEW 8:25 WHAT MANNER OF MAN IS THIS THAT EVEN THE WIND AND THE SEA OBEYS HIM
As we drove into America’s Keswick I was struck by how clean and pristine the lakes looked.
I thought, “How our great God can use even a hurricane to do what we could not do!”

We had even drained the lakes to try to kill the unwanted weeds. EPA would not let us do more but it could not stop our God.

With all of our picketing we could not close down one casino but He closed all of them in Atlantic City for two days!

I saw how God removed some dead branches and even uprooted some “rootless” trees.
Have you ever thought about how God uses hurricanes in our lives?
The hurricanes of life invade your life. Ask God what He wants to do in your life.
Are the weeds of sin clogging up the beauty of your life?
Are the dead branches of the past burdening your present?
And are the roots so shallow that your tree is about to be uprooted?
Take time alone with your Lord until He has done His perfect work in you and with you and for you.
He is able to make even the hurricane work His will.

When God sends a storm into our path
We find He has His rod and staff
To support us as we walk through
Not knowing what God may do.
But when the storm passes by,
The wind and rain from the sky,
Leave our land much richer far
Storms are not sent to mark or mar
But to clean up the rivers and the lake
When God’s done there’s no mistake
Our world’s much cleaner than before
