Standing on the Promises
Yesterday we talked about the promises of God and I want to share a couple more that Stormie Omartian addresses in her book, The Power of a Praying Life (Harvest House):
A promise when we need wisdom: “The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.” Proverbs 2:6-7

A promise in time of trouble: “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of mine enemies and Your right hand will save me.” Psalm 138:7
A promise when you feel weak: “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29
A promise when you need courage: “Be of good cheer, and He shall strengthen Your heart, and all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24
A promise when you feel threatened: “’No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises in you in judgment, You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
A promise when you need help: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2
There are hundreds of promises waiting for you to claim them. Open your Bible and look for them! They will be a great help to you in these ever crazy, changing times. – Bill Welte is President and CEO of America’s Keswick
Compass Pointers: Victory over all the circumstances of life comes not by might, nor by power, but by a practical confidence in God and by allowing His Spirit to dwell in our hearts and control our actions and emotions. Learn in the days of ease and comfort so that when the days of hardship come you will be fully prepared and equipped to meet them. Eric Liddell

Anchored to the Rock: It is not PRAYING that is condemned … but much SPEAKING; the danger of this error is when we only SAY our prayers, not when we PRAY them. Matthew Henry
