Who Is Jesus?

Who is Jesus?
Luke 23:40 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."  42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

The question often asked question asked by Christians is, “Have you prayed the Sinner’s Prayer?”  I have looked in vain to find such a prayer in Scripture. The closest to a sinner’s prayer is the one found in Luke 23. But it does not resemble any “Sinner’s Prayer” that I have heard.

Perhaps, that is why many who have come to the Colony of Mercy think that they were saved so many years before.

We need to check our theology. We cannot come to Christ as Savior for that is not who He is. He Is Lord. The thief on the cross called him King. He is King of Kings and as King He saves those who own Him as such. You cannot claim Him as Savior and later claim Him as King.

When we give Him his rightful place, we can trust Him to do right. In 1 John 1:9 we do not read that God is Faithful and Merciful to forgive us our sins but that He is JUST.

Even father Abraham uses the righteousness of God to claim forgiveness. He will never forsake His own.  Genesis 18:25 Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

It is not, then, “Have you prayed the sinners prayer?” But is Jesus your Lord and Master. Even Thomas cried out My Lord and my God.

John 20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Dig This Quote: Believers grow weary of the conflict between the flesh and the Spirit, and some wonder when there will no longer be the inner struggle. As long as we are in these earthly bodies, there will be the struggle of our two natures. As we walk with God will will learn what to expect of the old nature and how to cope with it, but the conflict will always be there ... As God worked with Jacob, little by little, He was able to instill in his heart the realization that the old nature is totally depraved and nothing good can be expected of it." Dr. Theodore Epp
