The Delight of Worship

The Delight of Worship

Today is the Lord's Day. I came across this reading from All I Need -- Meditations on the Master (Revell), which is similar to the readings from Daily Light.

May God use these verses in your life today to remind you of the delight of worship:

Delight yourself in the Lord! Shout with joy to the Lord, O earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy! Together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Do you see what we've got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God.

The song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever." All Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.
